There's not much to say about this weekend.
Highlights:
Last class of the summer semester.
Freshly squeezed lemonade from the county fair.
Gave my kitchen and dining room a good, deepl clean.
Finished The Forest of Hands and Teeth.
Low points:
Hubs worked night shift all weekend, which left me to sleep alone. It also left us with very little time together.
We went to the county fair to see The Clarks play but left because it looked like a bad storm was rolling in.
I wanted the hubs to help me measure our huge living room window so I could buy curtains. Unfortunately, he slept in, ate breakfast, and then slept again before leaving to work the night shift.
My fall semester starts in a few weeks. I'm really hoping to get some enjoyable weekends in before I get stuck with weekends full of homework.

Weekend Wrap-Up (4)
I don't know about anyone else, but I had a boring weekend. My husband was out of town for work, which meant I had lots of time to myself. Normally, I have class on Saturday mornings but not this week. What are the chances? I have no work or school for the entire weekend, and he has to work all weekend out of town. I found myself doing a whole lot of being lazy.
After work on Friday, my friend came over. She's been having some rough times and needed to vent. We had some pizza and spent about 4 hours dishing on everything that's been going on with us. She left around 10:00, but I found that I wasn't tired at all. I had wanted to finish reading Living Dead in Dallas (Sookie #2), so I spent some time both on the couch and in bed reading that. It was about 4 A.M. when I finally finished the book and settled in to go to sleep. Unfortunately, I only slept about 4 hours. Ugh.
Saturday was a totally lazy day for me. I ended up with an awful migraine from not getting much sleep the night before. After a quick trip to the drug store, I settled in to spend the night alternating between reading and watching HGTV. I love the shows on HGTV. I hate that they always make me hate the way my house is decorated.
We've been in our house for just over a year. Planning a wedding left us with little money to put into our new house. Most of our furniture is used that we've brought with us from our parents' houses or got from friends/family. I'd love to do so many different things to our house, but I have no idea where to start.
My in-laws stopped briefly Saturday evening. My mother-in-law is always bringing me candy dishes for some reason. I like candy but not enough to have a candy dish in every room in my house. While they were here, they invited me over for breakfast Sunday morning and made plans to mow our grass. The hubs won't be back in town for a few more days, and our grass was getting straggly.
I tried to be more productive on Sunday. Breakfast with the in-laws was good. I made a trip to Target to get some organization tools. I picked up some laundry sorters. I can never see the laundry room floor, so I'm hoping this will help me to keep it a little neater. My father-in-law came over to mow our grass, while my mother-in-law and I pulled weeds in my flower beds. After that, I cleaned up the house a little bit. My weekend finished up with some ice cream from Dairy Queen, Big Brother, and True Blood.
All I can say is I hope next weekend is better than this weekend.

Weekend Wrap-Up (3)
So I haven't blogged in quite awhile, but I have a good reason. Last weekend, I got married. Life had been pretty hectic up until that point. Every night was filled with some sort of preparation for the big day. The wedding was amazing.
I thought life after the wedding would be much less chaotic. Wrong! Our Best Man and his girlfriend stayed at our house for most of the week after the wedding. He had gotten into a big fight with his parents (where they were supposed to stay). My new husband, being the nice guy that he is, offered up our extra bedroom. They weren't bad guests. My husband and I were both working during the day, so we really only saw them in the evenings.
When they finally left, I thought I'd be able to get more done around the house. I started to tackle some major cleaning projects. Then it was the holiday weekend! We hit up some picnics and ate lots of good food. The last couple days we spent working on house projects. Now that the wedding is done and over with we'd like to do some things to our house.
So, I've had a pretty busy couple weeks. I'm hoping to catch up on my blogging this week. I've got a few reviews to post.

Weekend Wrap-Up (2)
This past weekend was super busy and very fun. It was the weekend before my wedding, which obviously means it was jam packed with stuff. I was hoping to squeeze in some reading but figured it probably wouldn't happen.
On Friday night, my fiance and I had a relaxing night together. We watched some episodes from True Blood Season 2. I love that show. I wish I had HBO to watch the new season.
I figured if I did any reading over the weekend, it would be on Saturday. My fiance went to a fundraising mini golf tournament held by a local radio station. It was part of his bachelor party. That meant I had the whole day to myself before heading out for my bachelorette party. I ended up taking my jeep to the dealership for a little bit of work, picking up a present for my dad for Father's Day, dropping it off to him, running my little brother to the store to get a present, and then rushing home to get ready. I definitely didn't plan on fitting all of that into my day. I did manage to read a few chapters of Mercy by Jodi Picoult.
My bridesmaids and grandma went to the Spaghettie Warehouse for dinner. After dinner, I went to a local bar with a few friends. We didn't stay very long, and I only had a few drinks. It was enough for me, though. I'm not a big party animal.
On Sunday, my fiance and I ran some errands and did some shopping. Then we spent several hours watching the rest of True Blood Season 2. He had a late hockey game, which meant I could fit in some blogging.
The best part of my weekend was that it was the last weekend before we are a married couple. :-)

Weekend Wrap-Up (1)
This past weekend was rather slow compared to others. I didn't have class, and I wasn't on-call for work. With these two things missing, I had lots of freedom regarding my weekend plans. The only things on my to-do list were 1) read, 2) blog, and 3) sleep. ;-)
So did I complete my to-do list?
Friday night was pretty lazy. My fiance and I met with our caterer to finalize our menu and go over some things before the wedding. It's coming up pretty quickly. We attempted to sit out in our backyard to have a few drinks, but the bugs thought we tasted pretty good and kept coming back for seconds and thirds. We eventually went inside and opted for starting True Blood Season 2. We made it through the first episode before deciding we were old and tired and heading to bed.
Saturday started bright and early before 7:00 a.m. My future mother-in-law called us (and woke us up) to ask if we wanted to go to breakfast. Breakfast was yummy. I had a hair appointment to try out my hairstyle for the wedding. It turned out great! I can't wait until the wedding to see it with my dress. The rest of the day was spent car shopping. I'm thinking about getting an SUV to help me get around better in the winter. Sometimes the snow we get in PA is too much for my Cobalt. After spending the day car shopping, we got dinner at a local seafood place. And I just realized we ate out twice in one day, which is unusual for us. We let our awesome dinner settle in our bellies before going out for a little fun. I played designated driver while we hit up a bar and a friend's bonfire.
Sunday was a very productive day. I planned on tackling cleaning and wedding stuff. I started my day with an early trip to the grocery store. Chocolate chip waffles were an excellent start to my day. After doing a few loads of laundry, my fiance and I took our dog to a rabies clinic held by our local humane society. We waited for 2 hours, but I was able to get Baxter's rabies and distemper shots, and he was microchipped. They had a young Old English Sheepdog available for adoption. I immediately fell in love with her but didn't say anything to C. He told me to inquire about her, and we stopped at the shelter on the way home. Unfortunately, someone had already put in an adoption application. We put one in, too. Hopefully the other person is denied. ;-) I really want her. I'd love to have two Sheepies. I made an awesome lasagna for dinner, and then we settled in to work on our seating for the wedding.
It's now almost 9:00 p.m., and I feel like I've done plenty for today. C has a hockey game, so I'm going to use this quiet time to work on some blog posts. So, how did my plans for reading, blogging, and sleeping work out this weekend? Not so well. Haha. I didn't do much reading or sleeping. I did, however, get quite a bit of blogging done.
